Haste makes waste


This is what happens when a pot is not completely dried when fired. The pot was bone dry, but I added several coats of terra sig and did not let it dry sufficiently before placing it in the kiln.


On a happier note. This was on the shelf below and turned out perfectly.

Bow that one really went off like a bomb! Does your kiln let you hold a very low temperature? The guy who runs our electric kiln will hold "risky" pieces around 200F for a day before ramping up the temperature.
