Slipped

A trial of something different, adding slip to a dark clay body. This one burst out white I was making it. Instead of  throwing it out I stained and fired it.

...and created a beautiful planter.

A bit too big

The kiln has a 23in diameter, the pot has a 24in. To get it to fit I angled the shelf 30 degrees.
Completed pot diameter is now 23in.

Echeveria 'ice age'

Nice color on this variety due to lack of winter water

In a free form pot stained with red iron oxide
